Closure Notice

Following the revised UK Government guidelines for hotels announced on 23rd March 2020, we have now closed temporarily.

Although we are currently closed, if you have a group enquiry for key workers, then please contact reply@thwaites.co.uk where we will do our best to support you.

For all other guests, we are very sad about being closed to you but, rest assured, you can still plan your visit as we’re taking bookings from 21st May. And for your piece of mind we are offering a no quibble refund for bookings up to 20th June if any dates change as a result of further guidance.

Welcome to the Lodge at Bristol; the perfect place for you and your family to enjoy a break away.

Explore all that Bristol has to offer or venture further afield to the surrounding areas of historic Bath and nearby Cardiff.

Our rooms are modern, stylish and filled with all the facilities you need, such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and en-suite bathrooms. On top of all this kids stay free, for lots of family fun with lots of delicious food and drink on offer too!

From the 29th March the Black Sheep will be unable to take dinner reservations, as we’re making some changes to our space. Guests who are staying with us on a bed and breakfast rate can enjoy their breakfast at the Aztec Hotel & Spa opposite.

The Lodge at Bristol is only a 20 minute drive away from the city and the perfect base to explore the South West.

Whether it’s a visit to Bristol Harbour, with it’s a rich history, Bristol Zoo Gardens for all the animal fun or get adventurous at Cheddar Gorge which is the largest gorge in England. Take some time to discover the breath-taking caves, soaring pinnacles and some spectacular natural wonders.

After a tiring day out, return to the lodge and tuck into a mouth-watering burger off the grill or one of our popular wood-fired pizzas, with a beer or glass of wine and then sink into bed for the best night’s sleep you’ll ever have. We also have a number of our rooms are also dog-friendly, so you don’t need to leave the four-legged family member at home.
